شرکت مایکروسافت برنامه Microsot Teams را برای ارتباط ها درون سازمان طراحی و ارائه کرده بود. با توجه به همه گیری ویروس کرونا، این شرکت نسخه موبایلی آن را عرضه کرد و این امکان را به تمام افرادی که قصد استفاده از قابلیت تماس ویدئویی مایکروسافت تیمز و ایجاد حساب کاربری داخل آن را داشتند، داد.
اکنون مایکروسافت، نسخه تحت وب و دستکاپ این برنامه را عرضه کرده است تا بتواند طیف بیشتری از کاربران را به سمت برنامه Microsoft Teams بکشاند. بر همین اساس کاربران می توان به شکل رایگان و نامحدود (حداکثر 300 نفر) در روز تماس گروهی برقرار کنند. قابل ذکر است که برای ایجاد تماس ویدئویی و ایجاد گروه، فرد ایجاد کننده گروه باید حساب کاربری داشته باشد اما افرادی که به گروه اضافه می شوند نیازی به داشتن حساب کاربری برنامه مایکروسافت تیمز را ندارند و می توانند بدون هیچ مانعی به تماس گروه اضافه شوند.
همچنین مایکروسافت برای ارتقا این برنامه، قرار است قابلیت Toghether Mode Teams را به مایکروسافت تیمز اضافه کند و کاربران می تواند در یک فضای مجازی مشترک با یکدیگر به تبادل نظر و اطلاعات بپردازند.
با توجه به اضافه شدن نسخه وب و دسکتاپ برنامه مایکروسافت تیمز و همچنین امکان اضافه شدن افراد بدون حساب کاربری به گروه تماس ویدئویی، این شرکت قدمی محکم برای رقابت با برنامه زوم و سایر برنامه های دیگر مانند گوگل میت و سیسکو برداشته است.
