کابل کشی در شبکه و استفاده از تجهیزات پسیو باعث تحکیم و ایجاد ستون ساختمان کلی شبکه جهت ایجاد ارتباط می شود. چنانچه سیستم مستلزم یک شبکه پرسرعت باشد بهتر است از کابل های پسیو با کیفیت استفاده شود. کابل کشی ها تنها شرط تهیه و استفاده کالای باکیفیت ندارند، اجرای صحیح و در نظر گرفتن تمام استاندارها است که می تواند باعث ساخته شدن شبکه کابلی قابل اطمینان و با ماکسیمم مقدار پهنای باند شود.
دیتا سنتر
مورد دیگری که اهمیت دارد اصلی ترین قسمت شبکه، یعنی همان دیتا سنتر است که اجرای آن قسمتی از سرویس های هزار سو را شامل می شود. اجرای این مورد مستلزم رعایت نکات تکنیکی و استانداردهای موجود است. در نتیجه علاوه بر ظاهر شکیل، در بخش اجرا نیز از ماکسیمم ظرفیت امکانات استفاده نمود.
دسته بندی
در کل تجهیزات شبکه به دو گروه تقسیم بندی می شود. گروهی از آن ها برای انتقال داده ها به برق و جریان الکتریکی نیاز دارند. به این گروه تجهیزات اکتیو گفته می شود. به عنوان مثال: فایر وال، مبدل فیبر نوری، سوییچ، مسیر یاب، اوپرینت سرور و کارت شبکه جزو تجهیزات اکتیو می باشند.
تجهیزات پسیو برای انتقال داده ها هیچ نیازی به جریان برق ندارند. برای مثال می توان به نمونه های مختلف سیم ها، کانکتور ها، مدل های مختلف رک، داکت، پچ پنل، پچ کورد و کانال اشاره کرد.

همانطور که می دانید جهت به راه اندازی یک شبکه رایانه ای می بایست در قسمت سخت افزاری، یک کارت شبکه که خود یکی از تجهیزات اکتیو است، در اختیار داشته باشيم. اهمیت کارت شبکه به قدری زیاد است که هم اشخاصی که از داده های share شده توسط سایرین بهره مند می شوند و هم اشخاصی که داده های ارسالی را دریافت می کنند به آن احتیاج دارند.
کارت شبکه توسط کامپیوتر ها برای برقراری ارتباط باهم با کمک تجهیزات پسیو و تجهیزات اکتیو استفاده می گردد.
همچنین برای وب گردی ها و استفاده از اینترنت در گوشی و یا در کامپیوتر نیز به کارت شبکه نیاز است.
جهت اتصال به شبکه در رایانه های جدید و قدیمی باید ابتدا کارت شبکه در آن ها راه اندازی شده باشد، در غیر این صورت می توان از اینترفیس شبکه استفاده کرد.
